We meet every Wednesday evening between September and June to socialise and dance Scottish Country Dances
We usually dance in Church House, South Street, Bridport, West Dorset (see map)
Ann Prior, our teacher, takes a class for learners from 6.30 p.m. to 7.25 p.m.
From 7.30p.m. to 10.00 p.m. (with a coffee-break at 8.30) we dance - with Ann and various others guiding us through familar dances or teaching us new dances.
Every first Wednesday in the month, 7.30-10.00, we have a Social Dance (with cakes!) at Salwayash Village Hall (2½ miles north of Bridport - see map)
Every so often groups of us go to neighbouring SCD groups' social dances or even to Day Schools or Week-end Schools (see SW Calendar) or even the official RSCDS weeks at St Andrews in Scotland.
We also have a particular relationship with a French group of dancers at St-Quay-Perros in Brittany, the Scots Bonnets - each year we do an 'exchange' - either they come to us for a week-end of hospitality and dancing or we go to them.
Once a year (usually in January) we put on our Annual Ball where we and friends from all over don our glad rags and dance the night away! - This is usually held in the Sports Hall of The Sir John Colfox School.
We have fun!
